Each figurine is hand painted and manufactured according to strict EN-71 specifications; with meticulous attention paid to details like scale, posture, weight, and even texturing for optimal realism. This Inuit figurine does not escape PAPO's craftsmanship excellence, featuring the same quality and attention to detail in its sculpting and colouring.
Like all PAPO figurines, this Inuit is made from non-toxic plastic and is BPA and phthalate-free, making it a safe choice for play even with our younger ones.
INCREDIBLE INUIT FACTS!
• The Inuit people live in the far northern areas of Alaska, Canada, Siberia, and Greenland. They originally made their home along the Alaskan coast, but migrated to other areas.
• Although it has become common to refer to the Inuit as Eskimos, this is not their preferred name, nor does it have anything to do with their cultural heritage. Instead, it is believed that either the French or Danish first coined the phrase Eskimo, and it apparently meant either “snow-shoe netter” or “meat eater.” Either way, the majority of modern Inuit people view the word Eskimo as a racial slur. Therefore, if you ever find yourself in the company of an Inuk, be sure to never refer to them as an Eskimo.
• Most people have heard of the term 'Eskimo kiss', but in reality, the Inuit do not rub noses as a form of kissing. They do, however, have a slightly different gesture to greet their significant others: by smelling each other’s cheeks and hair.
