Realistic detailing and incredible paintwork are what set PAPO's Dinosaurs ahead of the rest. Each figurine is hand painted and manufactured according to strict EN-71 specifications; with meticulous attention paid to details like scale, posture, weight, and even texturing for optimal realism.
This Dilophosaurus figurine is of no exception. Its semi-circular crests running the length of the top of its skull reflect the fossil very accurately; with a small, backward pointing extension at the rear of the crest retained for a solid interpretation. An articulated jaw unveils beautiful detailing inside its tooth-lined jaws, perfected with incredible paintwork from the tip of its head to the end of its tail.
DANGEROUS DILOPHOSAURUS FACTS!
• Poor Dilo! Jurassic Park took great liberties to turn this tiny tyrant into a truly terrible one! For one, the Dilophosaurus does not spit venom and is not even built with venom sacs; and two, they did not have neck frills to scare preys and predators (their menacing faces worked just fine).
• Also, the Dilophosaurus was portrayed as a cute, playful, dog-size critter in the movie; in the real world though; this dinosaur measured about 6m from head to tail and weighed around 450g when fully grown.
• Meanwhile, The most distinctive (and real) feature of the Dilophosaurus is the paired crests atop its skull, the function of which remains a mystery. Most likely, these crests were a sexually selected characteristic (that is, males with prominent crests were more attractive to females during mating season, helping to propagate this trait) or they helped members of the pack recognize each other from afar.
