Realistic detailing and incredible paintwork are what set PAPO's Dinosaurs ahead of the rest. Each figurine is hand painted and manufactured according to strict EN-71 specifications; with meticulous attention paid to details like scale, posture, weight, and even texturing for optimal realism.
The excellent details of this Spinosaurus figurine are readily seen in its life-like head; foreclaws; and its innovative lower jaw that closes and opens to a marvelously intricate interior. It chunky and sizable body also makes its hardier for rough and tumble - a great option for the younger dino aficionados!
SHOCKING SPINOSAURUS FACTS!
• The Spinosaurus was BIG, but just how big, exactly? That’s difficult to ascertain, since, to date, no complete skeletons have been unearthed. (And you can blame Hitler for that. More below.) Some estimate that a large adult could be almost 13-15m long; with spine bones measuring in at 1m tall.
• In 1944, the most complete collection of the Spinosaurus remains were sent to German paleontologist Ernst Freiherr Stromer von Reichenbach, who resided in Munich. Unfortunately, Stromer’s outspoken anti-Nazi sentiments doomed the fossils he cherished. In an act of retribution, Third Reich officials refused to let him move his collection to safer ground during the Second World War, and the museum that housed them was later bombed amidst an RAF raid.
• Sometimes, being weird works. The Spinosaurus was chosen as Star Villain in Jurassic Park III precisely because of its unique profile. Director Joe Johnston was trying to steer from the traditional T-rex tyrant lookalikes, and felt that the Spinosaurus made a distinctly different antagonist.
