Realistic detailing and incredible paintwork are what set PAPO's figurines ahead of the rest. Each figurine is hand painted and manufactured according to strict EN-71 specifications; with meticulous attention paid to details like scale, posture, weight, and even texturing for optimal realism.
A prominent feature in many cave paintings, this Mammoth figurine is so incredibly life-like that even its trunks are textured with bumps and lines - much like the real thing! Its tusks spiral to the side in asymmetrical curves; with a high single-domed head that, in reality, balanced the weight of these gigantic tusks. Sculpted with thick shaggy fur detailing, and perfected with excellent colourization for added precision.
MARVELLOUS MAMMOTH FACTS!
• Due to global warming, the melting permafrost in Arctic Siberia has begun revealing woolly mammoth tusks, which has created a group of local tusk-hunters that find and sell these buried treasures. A tusk can range from 10-13 foot in length and a top-grade mammoth tusk is worth around $800/kg.
• Important side disclaimer: Mammoth ivory, unlike elephant ivory, is legal.
• The Rouffignac Cave in France has 158 depictions of mammoths, making up about 70% of the represented animals that date back to the Upper Paleolithic period. There is also evidence of the use of bones and tusks by humans to create portable art objects, shelters, tools, furniture and even burials.
