Realistic detailing and incredible paintwork are what set PAPO's Dinosaurs ahead of the rest. Each figurine is hand painted and manufactured according to strict EN-71 specifications; with meticulous attention paid to details like scale, posture, weight, and even texturing for optimal realism.
This astonishing life-like Dimetrodon has even been crafted to great anatomical detail; with a lovely long tail, squat limbs, and a heavy-looking maw mounted up front. Its articulated jaw also allows for a variety of poses - but don't leave them open for too long! These carnivores are notorious for gobbling up animals way bigger than themselves!
DELIGHTFUL DIMETRODON FACTS!
• We don't want to break hearts... but although it looks superficially like a dinosaur, the Dimetrodon was actually a type of prehistoric reptile. Known as a Pelycosaur, the Dimetrodon lived during the Permian period, 50 million years or so before the first dinosaurs had even evolved.
• Since this slow-moving reptile almost certainly possessed a cold-blooded metabolism, it probably evolved its sail as a temperature-regulation device, using it to soak up valuable sunlight during the daytime and dissipate excess heat at night.
• The Dimetrodon was considered 'small' compared to its dinosaur counterparts... but size is relative when it comes to the prehistoric ages. Small as the Dimetrodon was, it measured in on average, twice the length of a horse.
